Chico the monkey highlights gaps in Zombie/Alien/Vampire/Robot/Monkey defense plan

This is as close as Spokane has ever come to full on armageddon. While the three bitten bystanders can rest easy that they won’t be foaming at the mouth anytime soon; it is still unclear if they were infected with another more menacing virus. It is entirely possible that Chico was a carrier of yet to be discovered virus that makes ebola look like a stuffy nose. We are all still at risk. I’ve purposefully stopped traveling on 16th avenue (where the monkey onslaught began) because I’m sure that any day now zombies or vampires (or both) will emerge from their gestation period with a taste for human blood (or maybe brains).

My analysis points toward three main problems with strategy used to capture Chico. First, we need to kill the intruder much faster. Chico was able to bit three people in less then one hour. Had Chico been released in a more populated area he could have infected two are three times the number of people. Secondly, we must be able to isolate the infection. You can’t be too cautious with a situation like this. We should have immediately set up road blocks and infection screening posts. Thirdly, we need to move away from reactionary and toward preventative measures. I’d like to see police checking houses randomly and investigating possible Zombie/Alien/Vampire/Robot/Monkey sightings. Families should develop plans, meeting places, and code words, which could be used to prove that the family member wasn’t yet infected. We can’t be too careful.

My suggestions are aimed only at getting the discussion going. It takes the community coming together and discussing the strategies and plans for progress to be made. Yes we can!
